Sacred Stones, Sacred Stories

The Sacred Stones, Sacred Stories project will:

• Create a system of ramps and a new elevator to meet ADA requirements
• Include a geothermal energy system for heat and air conditioning
• Upgrade the electrical system, including new wiring and a generator
• Install a new boiler and update plumbing
• Provide private restrooms in bedrooms
• Deconstruct underutilized areas
• Renovate hospitality areas
• Provide access to wireless technology

The Clyde monastery’s Marian Wing will undergo deconstruction to eliminate unused space. Taking great care during the process will allow the Sisters to recycle materials elsewhere at the monastery or to donate them to the surrounding community.

The renovation will add areas for new wireless technologies to enhance Sisters’ educational opportunities and expand their Web and e-mail ministry around the world.

Installing a geothermal energy system will add to the Sisters’ portfolio of environ-mental stewardship, which includes hosting a wind turbine and prairie grass restoration.
